Temperature warning sensor on oil dipstick - Type 1

We all know that oil is the vital element for the VW type 1 engines of our beetles and derivatives. Maintaining the oil at the correct temperature is essential. By simply replacing your original oil level gauge with this oil temperature dipstick and reconnecting it to the original oil pressure pressure switch probe with the kit supplied with its instructions and its double plug, you will now be able to monitor the oil temperature of your engine also without the use of an additional gauge on the dashboard with the hazards of the resulting connections. (additional wires to pass, installation of gauge etc...).
Your oil light will now perform two functions: it will continue to function as an oil pressure warning light as before, but it will also become an oil temperature warning!
Under normal conditions, your light will remain off.
- If the light starts flashing, your engine temperature is getting too high (about 108°C) and it's time to slow down to lower the engine speed or take a break.
- If the light comes on continuously, the temperature of your engine is definitely too high (approximately 115°C) and you must stop the engine to cool it down. No more anxiety in hot weather or in traffic jams! 6 or 12 Volt operation.
It is imperative to adjust the height of the probe cap with the original gauge to have the correct oil level information. Pass the wire behind the dynamo and distributor foot, disconnect the wire from the original oil pressure sensor, connect the new wire to the pressure sensor with the double terminal and reconnect the original pressure wire .
And that's it, it's over!
Your indicator on the dashboard now plays a dual role!
